There’s been a strong connection since the 1960s between west Texas and Asbury Seminary. Many of the Methodist pastors in our region today attended seminary there—including two that we get the privilege to listen to and learn from every Sunday. Asbury also works closely with Texas Tech’s Wesley Foundation to create a smoother pathway for college graduates to continue their education in theological studies. They are instrumental in shaping and strengthening the foundation of future leaders in our churches and in our faith. We are so excited to have the president of Asbury Theological Seminary, Dr. David Watson, spend a Sunday morning with us September 20th.
Dr. Watson is an author/contributor of several books focusing on Wesleyan theology, New Testament studies, and Christian discipleship and co-host of the Asbury Theological Seminary podcast, It’s Elementary. He’s a Red Raider (those are pretty popular around here) and holds a Masters degree and PhD from Southern Methodist University. He will be preaching on TOV in both the 9AM and 11AM services.
