Each Wednesday during the school year, we gather in the chapel for Vespers. The name comes from the Latin word vespera, meaning “evening.” Throughout the history of the Church, Christians have paused at the close of the day to give thanks, reflect on God’s faithfulness, and entrust themselves to his care and calling. Our expression of Vespers, in the middle of the week, offers a quiet place to “be still and know” that God is with us. In the midst of busy schedules, endless demands, and constant noise, these thirty minutes invite us to slow down and simply be present with the Lord and with one another. During this thirty-minute service before our Wednesday evening meal, we pray together, hear God’s Word together, and gather around the Lord’s Table to receive Holy Communion. Week after week, Vespers has become a meaningful rhythm of worship, helping us refocus our hearts, renew our souls, and continue walking with Jesus as he leads us back to the goodness of the garden. All are welcome! Childcare is available during Vespers in the ARK beginning at 5:00 pm for your kids infant to prek4.
