OUR LEADERS

Rev. Steve BrooksSenior Pastor

Steve grew up on the 4 generation family cotton, wheat, and cattle farm south of Tulia, TX.  He was active in sports, showing steers, and his youth group at First United Methodist Church.  He got his bachelor’s degree in History from Texas Tech (where he met his beautiful bride, Alayna) and then went on to seminary at Asbury Theological Seminary. Steve has pastored several churches in the Northwest Texas Conference, and believes that our mission in life is to grow more like Christ every day and invite people to join us on that journey of God making us new though his grace. He is an avid sports fan and loves to watch the Rangers, the Cowboys, and all things Red Raiders. Guns up! He also loves to cook and eat new and different foods. Currently, he has mastered Korean kalbi, Thai Penang curry and Tom Yum fried rice, and a South African dish called piri piri chicken. He’s always up for a new culinary challenge!  His favorite movie is Chariots of Fire and his favorite Bible passage is Revelation 21:5 (Revelation is also his favorite book in the Bible).  He and his wife have 6 children: Levi, Sam, Lily-Grace, Joey, Simon and Saydi.

Kurt hails from El Paso, Texas and misses Taco Tote every day.
