The Handbell Choir

The Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is dedicated to spreading God’s Word through the power of music. They provide music for the Sunday 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sanctuary worship services as well as perform worship concerts with an orchestra. Membership is open to all adult singers, college age and up with an interest in singing. Practices are held on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Choir Room. The Contemporary Praise Band
First Methodist has been blessed with exceptional musicians. To the degree possible, a typical Contemporary Sunday worship band includes keyboardists, a drummer, guitarists, a bassist and singers. Our goal and vision is to have worship music that is relevant to the culture that surrounds us here in Midland. Youth Offerings (7th-12th grade)
The Celebration Ringers (Youth Handbell Ensemble, Grades 7-12)
This group performs sacred music during worship, and for an annual concert tour. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6-6:30 p.m. (Music Department, 2nd floor, Handbell Room) No audition is required.If you would like to be part of this ministry, contact Glen Olsen via or phone at: 682.3701 x 236.

The Celebration Singers
This youth choir ministry performs traditional, classical, contemporary Christian and secular music, incorporating piano, acappella song and other instruments. In June of each year this group tours. They also sing throughout the year during Sunday services as well as perform with the Chancel Choir and Orchestra for major performances. We welcome seventh through twelfth graders as part of the choir. Sixth graders join the group in January. No audition or test is necessary to join. Just show up for practice on Sunday afternoons during the school year and you are in. Practices are held Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Choir Room. Oasis Youth Praise Band
A group of dedicated and talented teens who are committed to Christian ministry through praise music. The band learns current praise and worship music utilizing a full rhythm section and singers. The Wind Ensemble
The Wind Ensemble performs sacred and wind ensemble literature and offers instrumental support for congregational song. This ensemble is open to all instrumentalists and percussionists. It performs at the 10:45 a.m. Sanctuary service as well as other times. Children’s Offerings (3 years old - 6th grade)
Angels Class
