Foundation Banquet a Great Celebration
Foundation Banquet a Great Celebration
by Clark Williams, Foundation Development Committee Consultant
On Sept. 19 one hundred church members gathered for a fun evening of entertainment and celebration of the First United Methodist Church of Midland Foundation. The theme for the evening was “Enduring Gifts - Our Legacy of Faith.” Ventriloquist and humorist Dennis Lee kept everyone laughing with his animal puppets and a few “volunteers” from the audience. Amid the laughter, Lee and his characters challenged the crowd to remember all God’s blessings, especially the gift of Jesus.
The Foundation, founded in 1973, provides thousands of dollars in funding for ministries and capital projects in the church, the community and the mission field. The current Foundation trustees are Jim Cox, Tim Culp, Bob Davis, Don Evans, Don Jones, Ed Runyan and Dr. Tim Walker.
The banquet was sponsored by the Foundation Development Committee, whose members are Pat Pruitt, Tim Culp, Brad Heidelberg and Barry Brauchi. Special thanks to Pat Pruitt and her team for the fantastic menu and the beautiful decorations. Later this fall the committee will host an estate planning workshop for interested persons.
, the church’s Director of Finance, works closely with the Foundation. To talk with her about planning a gift through your will, a trust, life insurance, cash or other means, contact Lynda at 432.682.3701. Gifts to the Foundation are truly “enduring gifts” which will continue the work of Christ through our church indefinitely.
